Overview
Started in 1985 as Hindustan Engineering College, the prestigious institution was conferred with university status by University Grants Commision (UGC) during 2008 and 2009 for its dedicated progression in academics. Hindustan Institute Of Technology and Science (HITS) has one of the high-end laboratories and facilities with industry experienced faculty staff to guide students.
The Hindustan institute has 10 research centres and 7 Schools including Architecture, Aeronautical, Building, Computing, Electrical, Management, Mechanical, and Science & Humanities.
- Age: Candidates, whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 1999.
- Educational Qualification : A pass in 10, + 2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with a minimum 50% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and Biology is required if the candidate is taking up Biotechnology.

MEDICAL FACILITY
What if a student falls ill? No worries, the university management has ensured availability of medical facilities through establishment of a health centre inside the campus. A dispensary with qualified doctors on-call 24/7, a day is present . Other than treating medical needs, the medical team is encouraged to conduct regular medical checkups for all students every year.
CANTEEN
To dine healthy and hygienic, the institute runs in house canteen between 7 am and 7 pm for students and staff. The facility is open to day scholars, staff members and visitors. To ensure, ‘Students are healthy’, the food served is prepared in a hygienic and authentic way. Most importantly, the canteen is designed in a way to bring liseureness and relaxation.
STORES
A provision store has been built inside campus to cater the stationery and other requirements like domestic goods, toiletry, provisions, etc. The store also stocks publications, audio/video cassettes, herbal/ayurvedic products, etc. .
BANKING

TRANSPORT

ACCOMODATION
Within the modern campus, accommodation facilities are built spacious, ensuring natural ventilation support. HITS believes that life on campus should be like life at home, hence all facilities are installed to make the students feel secure and comfortable. The institute has 7 hostels – Jupiter hostels for boys and Susan Hostels for girls.

LIBRARY
Dr.K.C.G.Verghese Research & Resource Centre is the information asset of HITS. The institute consists of a central library and several department libraries to cater the demands of students and staff.The central library is digitally equipped with state of aft facilities to take books on need and has subscriptions to national and international e databases. The library is fully air conditioned and has adequate capacity to accommodate students. RemoteXS Facility is available for students and staff to access library online resources when they are off campus. Inter Library Loan Service is also available for students to loan books from other libraries.
