- Admission to B.Tech programmes at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University are offered through engineering entrance examinations – either JEE mains or AEEE conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
- Based on the rank scored in Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering 2023 or Score secured in JEE Mains 2023, candidates are evaluated for admission.
- Amrita also accepts valid SAT scores for admission.
- After examination, candidates are advised to register for Amrita B.Tech Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP).
- Based on rank scored, a differential fee structure will be provided in addition to scholarships for the students and further admission procedure follows.
- Age: Candidates, whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 1999.
- Educational Qualification : A pass in 10, + 2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with a minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 55% individually in each of these three subjects.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University has a total of 8 hostels in Chennai campus to accommodate over 3500 inmates. All rooms are naturally ventilated and equipped with solar water heaters for hot water supply. Hostelers are served with pure vegetarian food prepared under hygienic conditions.
Night cafeteria is attached to all hostels at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. All students are expected to live in the hostel during their course. However, local students who live with their parents within a radius of 30 km from the campus will be permitted to come from their homes.
